Welcome to the first wd_icontest Special Challenge. These challenges will pop up every now and then, and because they're so special, they'll be running for a bit longer than regular icon challenges.

Challenge: Make a movie poster of your favourite Disney movie. It can be either a cartoon or live action film.
Requirements: All posters must be 450px by 700px. (Let me know if you want a template of the size, and I'll put one up). You can use these dimensions to make your poster either portrait (longer sides vertical) or landscape (longer sides horizontal). The poster itself must include: at least one image, the name of the film with the words "Walt Disney presents". Other text you will need on the poster is some kind of slogan. For the slogan, you can either make up your own or use one that's already been used. The credit text is optional.
Deadline: You will have one month to complete your posters. All posters are due in at noon, Monday April 9th, 2007.

* You may submit up to two posters each (and depending on how many entries we get, will depend on how many entries can be entered in other special challenges. As this is the first, we're experimenting).
* All posters must be YOUR OWN work.
* No showing off your poster until the voting results have been announced.
* Posters are to be submitted to this post with the URL ONLY. You can add a thumbnail if you wish, but NO FULL SIZE IMAGES. Anyone who posts their poster in full size will have their comment deleted. I don't want my connection to overload everytime I open this post ;P
* Watch this space, because there's probably soomething important I've forgotten to add!

How cool!! What a very neat idea, I'm really looking forward to doing this one!

My only question (so far, anyways) is can we do our own artwork for it, or does it need to have official images of the characters?

Hmm, good question, I never thought of that. Um, personally, I would say official images, however the new artwork for the upcoming Fox and the Hound and Dumbo DVDs have the characters on there which look nothing like the actual characters (IMO) which I guess is different artwork. Hmm.

Let me discuss that one with the other mods, and I'll get back to you ASAP.

Us mods have discussed it, and decided no. Mainly for the reason that we won't know whether or not it is your own artwork or not.

Oh whoops, I forgot about those :( I'm trying to back my PC up right now (and it's taking forever -.-) so I won't be able to do them until I get my computer set up again. Feel free to take your icons over to the custombanners (or is it custom_banners?) though.

Thanks! :)

I'll *try* and do them this week but I have the new Sims 2 expansion, so I might get sidetracked :3

custom_banners only does banners for communities that don't have banner makers. You'd have to go to cb_overflow for comms that do have banner makers.

You'll need to add a slogan to your poster.
